Pet-friendly Places To Visit In Austin

September 22nd, 2011

Austin offers a great variety of pet-friendly places where your pet is sure to be welcomed.
Red Bud Isle is a great place to bring your pet; set on a peninsula, your canine companion can enjoy a swim or visit with other pooches. Wet and/or muddy conditions are possible, so it is recommended to bring along a towel and casual clothing.
Your pooch will enjoy a relaxing stroll on the beautiful grounds of the Laguna Gloria Art Museum; you and your on-leash pet will have access to the many trails, gardens and lake that are available.
During the months of March-November, Austin offers free walking tours that explore the Capitol Grounds, Congress Avenue/Sixth Street and Bremond Block. Your on-leash pet is welcome to join you.
Austin Carriage Service is pet-friendly and a fun way to explore the city by horse-drawn carriage.
During your outings, you and your pet will enjoy stopping in at one of these pet-friendly restaurants for a bite to eat and a place to relax:
Red’s Porch offers southern, cajun and tex-mex cooking; dogs are welcome on the first floor.
Austin Java, on Barton Springs Road, offers breakfast, lunch and dinner; dogs are allowed on the patio.
